Planing your
big day? but how long should you allow for events?

let's map it out

4.5 HOUR PACKAGE

Covering Ceremony to the Dance Floor

Planning you day can be tricky! Trust me as a Wedding Planner now turn Wedding Photographer...I can relate!

So here are some timings to help map it out for an Australian 2023 wedding.

~ Ceremony with a traditional run sheet is 30 min

~ After the Ceremony allow 15 min for hugs & congratulations with family

~ Group Photo & Family Photos - best to keep a list for your Photographer to help it run smoothly & keep the list short 20 min max!

~ Bridal Photos allow minimum 1 hour for onsite images

~ Now Take 10! Have 10min to yourselves in your room to freshen up your makeup & think FUCK WE'RE MARRIED!!

~ Entry to Reception (2 hours coverage remaining)

Here the planning will tie in with the venue & catering as they may need a curtain amount of time to deliver their product or delicious dish

On Entry to get the most out of coverage -

Cutting of the Cake. This is great as it lets the venue then have time to prepare it for your dessert plans.

Entrees to be served in the first 15 min & 2 speeches to commence.

It's great to have the speeches running the same time as food is in mouths to keep the evening flowing and guests quiet to hear the speech.

Entrees cleared & Mains Served - remaining speeches to be done during mains.

After Mains are cleared straight onto cake but only allow 10 min to eat as people come back to nibble on their desserts.

If there is anything else your wanting captured now it the time such as Boquet toss, Garter throw or Sparkler kiss! If your not wanting them captured then traditionally these are done around 30 min prior to wrapping up the evenings events.

The First Dance! Lets get everyone onto the dance floor!!!

Depending on the venue we usually have 15 to 20 min remaining to cover the dance floor shots. For tips on how to get the best dance floor keep your eye out for my Blog on how to make it pop!

Covering the Make-up to the Entry

Getting ready can be some or the cutest shots. You have surrounded yourself at this point with your closest friends and family...getting nervous, excited and dolled up for an amazing day ahead.

Depending on your vendor schedule this a a good guide to go off.

Photographer starts at the Bridal Suite (Brides location) For 1 hour capturing the final touches of the hair and make up, some fun pj shots before getting dressed and maybe a first look with dad.

Then we'll head over to the Grooms Room to capture 30 min of them getting dressed, having a drink and some fun Lad Shots! After this we head to the ceremony location (keeping the driving time in mind).

Arriving to the Ceremony 15 min early to capture documentary style guests arriving and the groom greeting etc.
